Kenyon's Spiritual Advisor Program
From Thomas Lewis, student organizer of the Spiritual Adivsors:
"Though religious students are not in the minority at Kenyon, many feel uncomfortable in an organized religious setting. Also, many Kenyon students (be they part of a religious tradition or not) feel uneasy talking about spiritual issues, even with their closest friends. Recognizing this need, the Board of Spiritual and Religious Life is currently developing a Spiritual Advisor program designed to give Kenyon's spiritual and seeking students a casual atmosphere in which to have totally open discussion. At the heart of the program is a poster featuring the names and faces of the advisors (who come from a wide array of spiritual traditions). Students can contact these advisors and schedule meetings when it is most convenient for them, and students also know that these advisors are not out to convert them or recruit them to a campus religious group. Spiritual growth is not easy when in isolation, and this program exists to make sure no Kenyon student has to go it alone."
